Understanding Rosacea

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition characterized by facial flushing and redness, often appearing in a butterfly-shaped pattern across the cheeks, nose, and forehead. It is caused by genetic vascular reactivity, which affects the small blood vessels in the skin.

Although rosacea primarily impacts the face, it may also present as redness on the chest, red or irritated eyes, and skin thickening around the nose. Symptoms commonly include dryness, sensitivity, stinging sensations, visible blood vessels, pustules, and swelling. Flare-ups are often triggered by factors such as extreme weather conditions, exercise, certain foods, and hot or alcoholic beverages.

Managing Rosacea Symptoms

Whether experiencing mild redness and sensitivity, suspecting rosacea, or managing long-term symptoms, a tailored dermal therapy treatment plan can help restore your skin health.

You may see a clinician for rosacea management, including:

  • Persistent redness, flushing, or sensitive skin that may indicate rosacea
  • Adjunctive support for individuals using prescribed rosacea treatments
  • Flare-ups involving sensitivity, permanent redness, or papules (bumps)
